Merging video and caption files
To begin you will need to have a video file (i.e .mp4) and a caption file (i.e .vtt, .srt). There are several programs you can do this with, below are the 2 that we would recommend
Kaltura - Preferred
- Log in to https://rutgers.mediaspace.kaltura.com/
- Click on your name and select My Media
- Next to your video (On the right-hand side), will be a grey pencil icon. Click on this to edit the video
- Click on Captions
- Click upload captions file
- Fill out all of the fields, including: Selecting Browse and finding your file. Filling in the language, Accuracy Level and providing a label. Once done hit Save.
VLC Player
- Open VLC player
- Click Media on the Menu Bar, then Open File (Crtl + O)
- Select the file and click Open
- Click Subtitle on the Menu Bar, and then Add Subtitle Track
- Select the file and Click Open
